What makes it all worth while – Humans.
Most days at work are busy. Most days are interesting but some days, like today are just plain exciting and remind us of why we started Human+Kind in the first place. In the space of half an hour this afternoon we had two pieces of equally important news for our company.

Firstly we got an email saying we won the Irish Tatler Beauty Awards 2012/2013 in the multi-tasking section. The news came through while we were in a brainstorming meeting and everything stopped while the team including company founders Jeroen and Rene exploded into a round of hugging and kissing. After a while things settled and we continued on with our brainstorm – though murmurs of an after-work celebration abounded.

Then another equally important piece of news came through on Facebook. Hazel from Hazel’s Health Store in Cavan posted that her customers really liked Human+Kind and that she’s using our All-in-One Anti-Ageing and finds it great. Now admittedly one piece of news is a bit more glamorous, Jeroen and Rene were genuinely thrilled that a real ‘Human’ loved our brand and took the time and effort to tell us on Facebook. They took as much joy from the Facebook post as from the award.

It reminded me why Human+Kind really is a different kind of skincare from a different kind of company. To take as much pleasure from a success with a single customer to a major beauty award win shows a level of sincerity that’s all too often lacking in today’s commercial reality.

So to all the Humans that have bought Human+Kind we say a sincere thank you for getting this Irish brand off to a flying start.

Some time ago I encountered a great fun new brand: Human+Kind Skincare. My love for natural skincare products was ignited again!
Human+Kind Skincare products are manufactured by two passionate Dutchmen, working and living in Ireland. Human+Kind Skincare believes in the philosophy that skin care problems can be solved in a natural and ethical way. They want to develop consumer awareness of the fact many cosmetics contain harmful ingredients. From this mission comes their advocacy platform; Campaign Against Chemicals. Human+Kind stands for honest information about the origin of the ingredients of their products. Important values and norms based on the creed “Skin Care of Mother Nature”.
From outward appearances the products promise a lot, I think the packaging is beautifully designed and illustrated. You will notice it and that’s where Human+Kind is set apart from other botanical skincare brands.

There are currently two products available in the Netherlands: the All-in-One Family Remedy Cream and All-In-One Anti-Aging Cream. Soon there will be two more available a body oil, and a day-and night cream.

The products of Human+Kind contain:

* No parabens
* No perfume
* The product and its ingredients are not tested on animals
* No Additives

First, I like the H+K All-in-One Family Remedy Cream. The great thing about the H+K All-in-One Family Remedy Cream is that it is suitable for many purposes. You can use the cream for your face but also for raw irritated areas of skin, cuticles, after sunbathing, shaving or treating scars. Currently I use this cream for the care of my hands and I think it’s a very nice cream to use! It is a formidable competitor of other multi-functional products! The cream smells a bit in the beginning of tea-trea oil, but it diminishes quickly. The cream absorbs quickly into the skin and does not feel greasy. I also felt that it nourishes my skin really well and keeps it well nourished. Especially now that the weather outside is geting colder my hands could use something extra. The cream is concentrated so you do not need much. That’s a big plus. Moreover, it is a reasonably sized tube so you can enjoy it for a long time! The good thing is that this cream has 15 active ingredients from plants namely: Organic coconut oil, shea butter, centella, calendula, avocado oil, rosehip seedoil, white lily, chickweed, birch extract, tea tree leaf oil, horsetail extract, marshmallow, olive leaf extract, broccoli extract and aloe vera.

The products of Human+Kind are made from pure natural ingredients, dermatologically tested, hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin. The prices are very reasonable for such a fine natural product. The Family Remedy Cream costs € 22.95 for 75ml and the Anti-Aging Cream costs €29.95 for 50ml. On the Anti-Aging Cream I will come back to that later otherwise this article will be too big and I want this product to attract the attention it deserves!

The All-in-One Family Remedy cream has super-rejuvenation-powers, contains hypo-allergenic and natural ingredients that are known to soothe, relieve and reduce the appearance of a multitude of skin irritations like sunburn, minor burns, insect bites & stings, acne, stretch marks and scars, cold and bed sores, athlete’s foot, brittle nails, itching and razor burn. The cream hydrates dry, cracked, sensitive and eczema/psoriasis prone skin.

The Family Remedy tube is crammed full of 15 healthy active ingredients like Coconut oil, shea butter, centella, calendula, avocado oil, rosehip seed oil, white lily, chickweed, birch extract, tea tree leaf oil, horsetail extract, marshmallow, olive leaf extract, broccoli extract and aloe vera.

Rosehip is unique among vegetable oils in containing Vitamin A and is also high in vitamin C.

Rose hip seed oil is high in the essential fatty acids like omega-6 and omega-3. It is known to be used for a variety of skin conditions, including dermatitis, acne and eczema, for mature and sun burnt skin as well as brittle nails.

The idea for Human+Kind started when we realised that it was very difficult to buy natural skincare products that did not contain harmful chemicals.

When we started to look more carefully we were amazed at the number of products that we were using on a daily basis contained dangerous carcinogenic parabens and toxins that can lead to cancer and cause various other health problems.

So with this as our starting point we began to figure out how we could create an authentic new skincare range that was totally natural and contained active ingredients that could reviltalise and restore a variety of skin problems.
